Corte Madera
My mother always says “I love that name: Corte Madera”. Corte Madera is indeed lovely. Though some parts of town may be windy or foggy, it is, for the most part, bathed in sunshine. Corte Madera is unique to Marin County in that it boasts two of the greatest malls in the County, both with an outdoor orientation, tastefully appointed and chock full of desirable stores and restaurants. Though I live in San Rafael, I find myself going to Corte Madera at least twice a week to hit the excellent family restaurants in the malls. There is also a great fire road at the top of the hills that is a couple of miles long, with gorgeous vistas and FLAT – great for running or biking with younger family members. There are terrific bicycle paths throughout the town, and a charming village-style business development at the foot of the hills, including a great wine bar and local grocery.
